Bill Gorham started Columbia Screw Products in Pasadena, California, in 1956. Three years later the business outgrew its original quarters and moved to its present location in Santa Ana, California. Jim Munselle started at Columbia in 1969, sweeping the floors while attending trade school at Kaynar. He soon became an operator and began to learn the screw machining business. In 1975, Jim continued his education with classes at Brown & Sharpe, learning cam layout and design. Jim became the General Manager at Columbia in 1979 and took over the day-to-day manufacturing operations.

The next twenty years saw Columbia Screw Products continue to grow and prosper. During this time, Columbia developed a lasting reputation for quick turn-around and outstanding quality. Over the years, Jim’s manufacturing expertise has helped many customers improve the design of their products and reduce overall cost. In 1998, Jim Munselle bought Columbia Screw Products from Bill Gorham. Jim carries on the tradition of quality and exceptional customer service at Columbia with plans to replace some of the older, cam-driven screw machines with modern CNC equipment. “The most important thing at Columbia is our lasting relationships with our customers,” says Jim. “Some of our customers have been with us for more than thirty years.
